CAROUSEL Takes an "Enchanting" Turn in London

Rodgers and Hammerstein’s CAROUSEL opened in London on December 2nd, 2008, to rave reviews.

Starring Lesley Garrett as Nettie Fowler, directed by Lindsay Posner and choreographed by Adam Cooper, CAROUSEL returned to the West End after a UK tour for the first time since the Royal National Theatre production in 1992.  Jeremiah James and Alexandra Silber exhibit “tremendous chemistry” (Mail on Sunday) as the lovers Billy Bigelow, a smooth-talking carousel barker, and Julie Jordan, the naive young mill worker.  Critics sang praises for the production, declaring it “a blazingly good production,” (Daily Mail), “an evening to cherish” (Evening Standard), and “a golden galloper” (The Observer). CAROUSEL has captivated audiences across the world since its original Broadway opening in 1945 and was lauded ‘Best Musical of the 20th Century’ by Time Magazine.
