This fall, as the original CINDERELLA waltzes yet again, three other CINDERELLA-related events join her here at The R&H

New York City Opera, which presented a dazzling version of R&Hs CINDERELLA in both 1993 and 1995, has returned the tale of the glass slipper to its repertory once again. 13 performances will be held at the New York State Theater at Lincoln Center in late November; visit www.nycopera.com for more.
Finally, an homage to the original 1957 telecast is the underlying theme of Val Caniparolis ballet; A CINDERELLA STORY, given its world premiere by the Royal Winnipeg Ballet of Canada this fall. The first full-length ballet based entirely on themes by Richard Rodgers, A CINDERELLA STORY is set in the 50's, and spins its own variation on the traditional tale of Cinderella and her Prince. The music, arranged for jazz orchestra by Ron Paley is drawn exclusively from the Rodgers songbook, primarily his work with Lorenz Hart. In Sheryl Flatows libretto, the excitement surrounding the first broadcast of CINDERELLA provides a leitmotif as Caniparolis protagonists dance their story against the impending TV event.
