We Mourn The Loss Of Florence Henderson

"We at Rodgers & Hammerstein mourn the passing of Florence Henderson.  Although we in the musical theater had to pass her on to television, she was for many years a mainstay of major productions of Rodgers & Hammerstein musicals.  From her appearance on the General Foods salute to R&H in 1954 as Laurey in OKLAHOMA!, to following Mary Martin in the original touring production of THE SOUND OF MUSIC, to her wonderful Nellie Forbush in the 1967 production of SOUTH PACIFIC at the New York State Theater, she was a true person of the musical theater.  We will miss her ebullient voice and personality."

A light on stage and TV has gone out. I will miss her charm, her smiling face and beautiful voice. Rest in peace among the heavenly stars.

Her talent was huge. Rest in peace Florence. You did the theater and TV proud. Classy lady.
