KARIN BAKER has performed with the Pacific Ballet, on The Carol Burnett Show, and, most notably, on Broadway, where her dancing feet have been heard in GEORGE M! (1968), starring Joel Grey, and in COCO (1969), starring the legendary Katherine Hepburn. When Gower Champion died suddenly on the opening night of 42ND STREET (1980), Karin took over as Dance Captain, assuming responsibility for the continued dancing excellence of the show. She then went on to recreate 42ND STREET for two national companies as well as for the London production at the Theater Royal Drury Lane.
Karin also was the assistant choreographer for ME AND MY GAL (1986). Her creative endeavors include BACH SUITE, a work for which she was commissioned by the Dance Ellington Company, LAST OF THE RED HOT MAMAS, a musical about Sophie Tucker, and THE MELODY LINGERS ON, a musical biography of Irving Berlin.
