Dreyfus Award receipt by William Schuman, the President of the Julliard School of Music, of a check for $3500 from Max and Louis Dreyfus, heads of music publishing for house of Chappell and Company. The money was given to set up an endowment for training a young composer of music for the theatre at the Julliard School. In making the award, Mr. Max Dreyfus said "This is more than a tribute. It is paying a debt."
