Abrahams, Maurice

Maurice Abrahams (1883-1931) was an early 20th century composer, publisher and a charter member of ASCAP (1914), the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers. He is known for having written material for vaudeville singers, including Belle Baker, who he married. Notable songs include "Pullman Porters Parade" written with Irving Berlin (performed by Al Jolson), and "Ragtime Cowboy Joe," which was featured in the movie, INCENDIARY BLONDE (1945).
